My Story With Detox

I am going to go ahead and share my deep dark and depression story with depression, addiction and detox. When I was twelve years old I found my first love and that was alcohol. I drank and drank every so often while I was that age. I would steal money from friends and family and would steal alcohol from my parents. I used to drink as often as I possibly could and when I did not have alcohol I would find some way to get my hands on it. This was the first start to my addiction and it only got much worse from there. As I got older I started looking into doing more drugs. I did pretty much everything you could think of I am not going to start naming stuff right now because that would be innapropriate. Lets just say that I did a lot of different things. The problem with that was all I really wanted to do was drink alcohol because that was my favorite. The worse thing was all of the drugs that I could get my hands on were easier to get than alcohol which is surprising if you ask me.

Lets fast forward a little bit until I turned eighteen years old. I found a couple of older friends who were willing to buy me alcohol and I started having them get it for me pretty much every single day. I drank and I drank more and more and because heavily dependant on the bottle. Whenever I would go a few days without drinking I would have terrible withdrawl symptoms and it was horrible. I continued to drink for the next six years of my life and when I turned 21 it got really bad because I could buy it every day. I started drinking more liquor and because addicted to the liquor. My family told me that I had a problem but I never listened to them. Eventually I hit my rock bottom which I will not really get into. Once I hit my rock bottom I decided that it was in fact time to detox my body and quit drinking.

This was two years ago and I am happy to say that I am one hundred percent clean, sober and detoxed. I must say that my life has never really been better than it is right at this moment and I am really loving my healthy lifestyle. I found many new hobbies that keep me occupied and I am quite good at them. I thank the lord every day for his amazing help with my alcohol problem. If I would have never learned how to detox your body from alcohol I would probably be dead right now.

How To Detox Your Body From Alcohol

how to detox your body from alcohol

At some point you are going to need to learn how to detox your body from alcohol. Not only alcohol but anything that you are currently taking. If you want to have a new happy and healthy lifestyle you must learn how to do this. There are a couple of guidelines that you need to follow. I have been clean for two years now and I am starting to appreciate the fact that I had a teacher when it came time to detox from alcohol. This blog was an inspiration from my teacher who helped me through my problem. So I will give you a nice step by step method to detoxing properly and making sure that you are being safe while doing so. Remember that it is always a good idea to be under the supervision of somebody else when you are going through detox. Preferably a doctor or somebody with knowledge of the detox process.

1. Getting Ready

Before everything starts you are probably going to want to prepare your body for what is about to happen. The best way to do so is to ween yourself off of what ever you are on. Preferably for the next week or so. You are going to want to take less and less of the substance you are using. If you want to know how to detox your body from alcohol just drink a few ounces less every day of alcohol. This will give your body less of a shock and you will have a little easier time detoxing. Make sure you talk to your doctor or detox professional about this before doing so. You can also use certain medications to do this for you.You just need to know what to look for! Prepare for some of the most horrible days of your life. Once they are over you are going to feel so much better I promise that.

2. Supervision

I wanted to talk a little bit more about this. Once you finally go cold turkey you are going to want to have somebody there to take care of you during this process. A friend, a family member is okay but It would be better to have a medical professional because they have the equipment and information that could end up saving your life. At this point if you are done with step one its about time you start to feel the full force of the detox process. You might not even be able to read this right now because of the intense problems.

3.Water and Food

Remember during the process of detox that you are eating as much as you possibly can. If you do not feel like eating you should still force yourself to eat small meals every day. Same goes with water you are going to want to drink as much water as possible. It will be a little bit difficult but you can do it with a bit of trial and error.

After about four or five days you should be done with your detox process. The worst part by far is over and now you are going to start to feel so much better. The next step is staying sober and not going back to the bottle. Hopefully that detox made you learn your lesson but if not you should think about entering a program like alcoholics anonymous. There you go! Now you know how to detox your body from alcohol! I hope that you can continue to make your life better and I hope you are feeling better! Keep your head up at all times and never give up on yourself. If I can do it so can you!
